Demonte Colony - Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

 ABOUT

    Demonte Colony is located in Alwarpet, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India on the right off St. Mary's road. The colony is filled with similar houses. The entire colony was owned by a Businessman, John De Monte, back in the 19th century.

 

    The colony has some shabby look as there is lack of good maintenance. There are plenty of trees lining the streets and the terrible look is there of the colony. It is totally spread in 6 acres. Thus, due to some suicidal reasons of that owner and his son, the colony was left empty and became haunted.

 

    The Tamil movie was also produced named Demonte Colony which is a horror film starring Arulnithi. 

 

HISTORY

    The owner's son of the colony was died in a accident on the way of Chennai followed by his parents. After the incident, there were lot of news that the spirits of any of them haunts the colony. His wife was leading mental stress and there was unhappiness in their family.

    Once a security guard was posted for the night duty. But on the next day, he was found dead in the colony. Thus, after that the residents started believing that the place has some paranormal sightings and claimed to see the spirits and their powers. You can visit the place and told us in our comment section that what is being happened there.

Claims And Myths

1.      Here, the claims were raised such as the pets and stray animals who were roaming around the colony has been disappeared.
2.      People living nearby claimed that they heard strange noises coming from the colony while passing by it.
