    Delhi Cantonment is popularly referred to as Delhi Cantt. It was established in the year 1941. It is a class cantonment board. It is spread over an area of 10,521 acres. Delhi Cantt is connected by road, railway and air. One of the roads is haunted by a woman and hence, Delhi Cantt is listed on the top in the list of best haunted places in India.

    HOW TO REACH THE PLACE :-

 

        Delhi Airport is about 5 km from Delhi Cantt. The nearest metro station is Cantonment metro station. It also has its own railway station naming Delhi Cantonment.

 

 

 

 

 

HISTORY

    The story of the place being haunted falls back to the rape-murder of a girl. It is believed that on her death night, she asked for lift to a place. Unfortunately, girl became prey to a sick mind's lust. She was hoped on with rape in a moving car by a guy who gave her lift. After rape in what is called as rape capital of India, her body was dumped in Delhi Cantt. 

 

    Since that day her soul has not rested in peace and so, she was stucked here in a death loop, asking for a lift and repeating the events of her death each night. It is also believed by some people that her vindictive spirit is seeking revenge on men, as a matter of fact any man who gave her lift. The road is haunted by a woman dressed in a white saree and would hitch-hike since decades. 

 

    It is believed that the she would waive at the passing vehicles asking for lift and the one who agreed to give her a ride were never seen again. It became more spooky when the driver did not stop. Whenever someone didn't bother to stop, she would start running after their vehicles at the speed of their vehicles until the end of Delhi Cantt road. For people who stopped and asked her for directions, it is said that they did not find their way home the entire night and kept circling around the city, completely lost.

 

 

 

 

Claims And Myths

•    Many people have seen the woman wrapped in white saree asking for lift.
•    Some people have also heard the laughing of a woman and the woman standing by the door at the next second and when they started driving the car fast the lady also started running after at the same speed.
•    One person also found the woman running at the same speed of vehicle along with smashing his vehicle's window when he ignored to give lift.
