 ABOUT

    Sanjay van is urban forest area located in South Delhi, near Vasant Kunj, Delhi, India. It is spread over 443 acres. It is a dense forest and a home for plenty of birds. These make it a heaven for some nature lovers.
 
    The forest is open for all 7 days and even have no entry fees. You could visit the place in winter as it has most of thick vegetation at that time. It will be better if you are dressed in full length clothes as it has some thorny bushes there.
 
    VISITING INFORMATION :-
 
        Timings:-    From 6:00 am to 8:00 pm (All Days)
        Fees:-          Rs. 50 per person including boating fees.
 
    HOW TO REACH THE PLACE :-
 
        The place has several entry and exit points. So, you will have easiness in roaming there. From all these, the most relevant will be the entry point of Qutub Institutional Area or at the Neela Hauz Bridge near Vasant Kunj.




HISTORY

    Plans are made to convert it to a bird sanctuary as it contains amazing birds such as Purple Sunbird, Indian Silverbill, Crested Honey Buzzard, Indian Paradise Flycatcher, etc. You can also be able to see some Deer and Nilgai.

    Apart from the beauty of the forest, there are some graves which are also found during the walk. These graves are bordered with the ruins of Qila Rai Pithora and some saints. So, there is a myth that spirits are actually living there in mausoleums and graves.

    Even the spookiest story is that a woman is seen in the middle of the road that runs through the forest. She will either be waiting by the road or seen walking through the huge banyan trees nearby. She usually asks for a drop who travels through that road during night. But the surprising part is that she disappears at any time leaving no trace.
 
 
 
 
 
 

Claims And Myths

    People here claimed to see the white woman right behind them sitting on a two wheeler even though they have not stopped it. Some also have claimed to have seen her sitting in the middle of the road and just staring at the people with her cold and piercing stony eyes.
