 ABOUT

    Located at Pune, Maharashtra, India, the bridge was constructed in 1980s by the leader of that area, MadhaRao Peshwa. The naming was done in the memory of Yashwantrao Holkar, who usually camped along the river that the bridge crossed. Later, it would serve as a location for a British military to camp until 1947.

    PMC constructed one bridge cum flyover and one river bridge at the location to have free flow of traffic with least number of obstacles. The bridge has a narrow masonry arch of 19 span of length of 160 meter across Mula River with an width of 8.8 meters.
 
    HOW TO REACH THE PLACE :-
 
        It is easily accessible by car. It also contains a pedestrian walkway, which is accessible at all hours. There is a local park on one side of the river and on another side there is Holkar Bridge Cemetery. This is open during daylight hours.
 
        AIR:-          It is just 10 km away from Pune International Airport.
        TRAIN:-          Pune Railway Station is just at a distance of 6 km from the place.
 
 
 

 

HISTORY

    Having a long and interesting history, Holkar Bridge is best known for its spooky tales and its legends possesses. It has the ability to strike fear into people as the bridge is worn and unsuspecting.

    Some also believed that there is a cemetery nearby the bridge named as "Holkar Bridge Cemetery", which is responsible for it. The cemetery contains graves, which date back to the late 1700s made up of a mix of cultural backgrounds. There is an uncertainty about who is the spirit and how was the incident occur, etc.
 
 

 
 

Claims And Myths

    Many unexplained deaths has caused the bridge as a haunted destination. Residents nearby suggests that the responsibility of place being haunted is due to the curse. People have also claimed that they have seen some paranormal features on and around the bridge.
