 ABOUT

    The palace is a Holkar Maharaj's residence situated in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Construction began in the late 19th century and ended in 1926 in the Italian Renaissance style. It will be renovated by the Worlds Monuments Fund and inscribed by the ASI as a protected monument.

    It is one of the most unique and famous palace in Indore, which reflects the lifestyle of official rulers having rose gardens with three storey building on the banks of Khan river. The entrance of the palace is much amazing.

    The palace is spread over 28 acres which has been converted into a museum. There is a map on the walls and the roofs.

HISTORY

    The Lal Bagh Palace has a notable history in Indore. Tourists visit the place as it belonged to the Holkar dynasty. We can say that the creator of the palace took an inspiration from the Buckingham Palace Of London. Despite of having its great beauty, there is a tale which says that the unsatisfied people of the Holkar Dynasty haunts the people. So, you should visit the place if you like some spooks in your life.
 

Claims And Myths

    People had felt some eerie feelings at that place. Tourists may feel some strange voices or be able to become a victim of some strange incident. The nights are the most unbearable time and the guards often have a hard time at that place.
