    Today's haunted place is in one of the busiest hill stations of India, Mussoorie, Uttarakhand. If you ask Mussoorie locals about this place, you will hear many weird stories, but all the stories have one common character, a witch of Lambi Dehar Mines.

 

    People have deserted this area long back and what remains are houses with plants and trees grown inside them. The local people consider this place as haunted and many incidents stand as testimony to their ghost stories. The place is now considered as one of the most haunted places in Uttarakhand.

        AIR:- 61 km from Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun Airport).

        TRAIN:- 35 km from Dehradun Railway Station.

 

 

 

 

HISTORY

    During the decade of 90, the quarry was a victim of a major accident. The result caused the death of 50,000 labourers. In fact, they chose a wrong stone which led to lungs disease. Gradually they started having blood vomitting. After which they all began to die. They are said to have become stones due to the lung disease. The incident is counted among the biggest incidents in India. Since then, this place is deserted. 

 

    Where the quarry work was never started again. According to the village residents, a witch wanders around the quarry at night and so, vehicles passing through it often become victims of major accidents. Another story of this mines that makes the place haunted is that of an Army officer. He used to live in Mussoorie with his beautiful wife. It is said that his wife was cheating on him with another man and wanted to get rid of him. They made a plan and the wife took his husband out for a walk in the mines of Lambi Dehar. 

 

    According to the plan her lover was waiting on the top of a cliff and as the couple passed down below, he hurled a huge boulder towards them. As the wife knew of the boulder approaching, she jumped up to safe land and the poor husband was crushed under the boulder. What happened to the unfaithful wife and her lover is unknown but it is believed that ghost of that Army officer is still trapped at the mines, forced to repeat the scene of his death every night, over and over again for eternity. 

 

    People claimed that he is heard crying out in pain every night. He is still unknown by the reason of the woman he so dearly loved broke his trust and murdered him. Per the local belief, he is stuck in a death loop unless he finds out the reality.

 

 

 

 

Claims And Myths

    Many people have met with lethal and abnormal road accidents in the area with cars and trucks going off the road. Even once a helicopter got crashed near the mines which adds more mystery to the place. 

 

    The Indian Paranormal Society team once visited the place with the Indian media. They examined the mines for several hours with its paranormal devices. They also claimed that there is presence of a negative energy as they received indications of clear soul. They also noticed the peculiar haze shape here, and they have also realised the ajnain powers. 

 

     Locals don't even roam near to the mines after sunset. They literally refuse to go near it as they believe that the place is held by a witch whose blood-curdling shrieks could be heard in the deathly silence of night! Apart from locals, some tourists have also felt eerie presence of unusual and strange noises. Reports of disembodied cries and groans galore this most haunted place in Uttarakhand.
