 ABOUT

    National Highway linking Bihar and West Bengal, NH-33 has the length of total 443 km, in India. The government has sanctioned around Rs. 1479 Cr for making the highway of four lane. The highway runs from Arwal to Farakka, but the part of Highway between Ranchi to Jamshedpur is much dangerous and spooky.

    The highway is busy at day time, but people do not dare to visit during the night hours from there. No other highway in the state has claimed so many lives. So, if you have to do something really adventurous, you can visit the place easily.

 

 

HISTORY

    Prayers and safe driving tips has also been failed for few on this highway. People religiously stopped by a Van Devi temple in Jamshedpur and those from Ranchi stop by Taimara Ghati Hanuman and Kali Mandir for safe passage. So, if you are visiting the place and don't want any harm, then try it once too.

    However, it has not worked for few people. Large number of people were killed there in the road accidents between Bundu and Tamar with a length of 40 km. The travelers even throw the money towards the temple and pray for their safety.

 

    The unheard prayers are the proof for us that how the road can be dangerous. Total of 8 persons have been died and over 60 were injured in the time span of 20 days. A total of 245 persons were died in the last three years. Sub divisional Police officer said that it is the only place in the country where the number of fatal accidents is more than the non-fatal accidents. 

 

 

 

 

Claims And Myths

    In 2003, a boy named Kanhaiya and 15 people from his village was passing through this highway in wedding at 9 pm by car. Suddenly, the vehicle stopped. The driver told them to wait for a mechanic but they started walking on the highway. After about 2 hours everyone got hungry and they forgot the food in car itself. So, they went in search of dhaba but it was nothing far on the highway.

    After about half an hour, Kanhaiya found a dhaba and all went there but he felt something strange as there were no electric wires or pole even though the light was working fine. He neglect that and started eating there. After some time, everyone started coughing and soon vomiting.

    Kanhaiya was very scared and he could not understand about what to do as others were behaving strangely. So, kanhaiya ran from dhaba and saw his car coming towards him. He also started vomiting and fainted. When he opened his eyes, he was in the hospital, but the driver said that there was no dhaba at all!!!
