The villagers have the fear of only one person in the village - The Diwan Of Jaisalmer. People said that he was demon-like in nature. Since he was the minister, the villagers had to pay the revenue levied upon them.

Once, he came to collect the revenue in the village. His eye fell upon the daughter of Mukhia of the village. He fell in love and announced that he was going to marry that girl. If anybody stopped him, then he would levied heavy taxes on them.

He decided to come to take the girl next day. The Mukhia decided to flee from Kuldhara and the nearby 84 villages. Hence, all the villagers left the village at night cursing the Diwan and land of that village.

Next day, the village was found empty. It's a mystery that how can all the villagers get vanished in one night.
