Ravindra Sarobar Metro Station - Kolkata, West Bengal, India.
ABOUT
Being a station of the Kolkata Metro, it is named after the Rabindra Sarovar, an artificial lake. It is located on Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Road at Charu Chandra Avenue in Charu Market, Tollygunj. The place is considered as the notorious suicide site and many spooks have been take place during the last train time.
It is an underground metro station, having two tracks of Kolkata Metro Line 1. It was inaugurated on 29, April 1986.
HOW TO REACH THE PLACE :-
The place is followed by the station Mahanayak Uttam Kumar towards Kavi Subhash and is preceeded by Kalighat station towards Noapara and Dum Dum.
HISTORY
The station has witnessed many suicide attempts over the last few decades which turned into many bizarre death and accidents. The most surprising thing is that more than 80% of the suicides took place at this station only. As Kolkata is known as City of Joy still some places are there that causes it to be the "Paradise Of Suicides".
On the another side, the paranormal happenings often occurred there, making it one of the haunted places of Kolkata. Not even a single living soul can be found after the last train left at 10:24 pm as locals avoid this eerie station after the night.
Claims And Myths
People who were passing nearby felt an eerie feeling around the place as well as they had some paranormal experiences too. They have been witnessed shadows on the pillars or figures walking past tracks. It is believed that these are the souls of the people who committed suicide there.
Some had also claimed of hearing voices and painful cries of women and children in several instances. Passengers have also reported sightings of a spirit inside the train.
