Agrasen ki Baoli - Most Haunted Step well in India

 ABOUT

     Agrasen ki Baoli is located near Connaught Place, Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, India. It has no proof but still a belief that it was built by Maharaja Agrasen. It has noisy atmosphere outside as it is located in the middle of city. But, inside the monument, there is a great peaceful environment. It is the oldest monument in Central Delhi. It can be visited between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. free of cost. It can be easily reached by the nearest metro station which are Barakhambha Road or Rajiv Chowk metro stations. 
 
    Here, the movie "PK" starred Amir Khan was also shot here. The protagonist was seen sitting at the baoli in a movie. It was also featured in Sridevi's "Thriller Mom".

        Timings:-    From 7.00 am to 6.00 pm (All Days)
        Fees:-          None

    HOW TO REACH THE PLACE :-

        AIR:-          The nearest airport at a distance of 14 km is the Indira Gandhi International Airport. From here, you can book a cab or bus.

        TRAIN:-          There are three metro station nearby the place such as Janpath Metro Station. So, you can go through it easily.

        ROAD:-          The place is located 1 km far from the New Delhi Bus Station. So, you can go through that way easily.

 

 

 

 

HISTORY

     In 2012, India post had also released the tickets of this monument. It is an attractive step-well made of red stones. The story about it has also some attractiveness as its structure has. There is a belief that the well was filled up with black water which attracts the people to dive into it. So, it was also known as hypnotizing well. Nowadays, the well has completely dried up and a full of darkness is present as we descend into the step well.
 
    Some people claimed that they have seen some unknown shadows there. Some people also said to have chase by the shadows.

 

 



Claims And Myths

  1.  In 2003, a boy named Akash working in Bollywood industry had sent to click the photos of this monument. He said his cameraman to click his photograph. In it, the cameraman saw the spirit standing behind him. He got frightened and droped his camera. The camera was broken and they left the monument immediately.
